Instructions: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

hope this is correct :-[

Good job, now you’ve to wait a bit…

What file does Avast report ?

CAUTION : This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

SearchScopes: HKCU - {2D37F571-150C-4C18-A7BB-FA8872E77A1B} URL = http://www.only-search.com/?babsrc=SP_kms&affID=129300&tt=&mntrid=48360018DED9E9F3&tsp=5344&q={searchTerms}&r=436 SearchScopes: HKCU - {484B961D-0FCB-4282-9C56-986614A65EA6} URL = http://uk.search.yahoo.com/search?fr=chr-greentree_ie&ei=utf-8&ilc=12&type=714647&p={searchTerms} SearchScopes: HKCU - {8C079184-314B-4202-9393-06CDB4610181} URL = http://www.mysearchresults.com/search?c=8004&t=11&q={searchTerms} SearchScopes: HKCU - {FC85AB7F-DA31-4B69-9B3B-DB4D9CF2520E} URL = http://uk.search.yahoo.com/search?fr=chr-greentree_ie&ei=utf-8&ilc=12&type=714647&p={searchTerms} Toolbar: HKLM - No Name - {0BF43445-2F28-4351-9252-17FE6E806AA0} - No File EmptyTemp: CMD: bitsadmin /reset /allusers

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe
Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

THEN

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.

[*]Close all open programs and internet browsers.
[*]Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
[*]Click on Scan.
[*]After the scan is complete click on “Clean”
[*]Confirm each time with Ok.
[*]Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
[*]Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
[*]You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.

Excuse my ignorance but when you say "Save in the same location as FRST.exe " would that place be c:\FRST\Logs ?

TIA

when you downloaded FRST.exe … where did you save it, and run it from? …desktop?

fixlist.txt must be saved at same place, when you run FRST and click fix, it will search for the fix, when found it will execute the comands Essexboy have written in it

oh with you - yes to my desktop

i shall proceed

and when done you find the fix log at same place also

Both Logs attached and both correct i hope

Have the alerts ceased now ?

Its taken years off my machine i kid you not
yeah , no pop-up warnings
am i safe to remove everything i d’loaded now AND remove all the Logs ?

I fully appreciate all you do at Avast thanks So Much

: Keep Java Updated :

WARNING: Java is the #1 exploited program at this time. The Department of Homeland Security recommends that computer users disable Java
See this article

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

CryptoPrevent install this programme to lock down and prevent crypto ransome ware

Malwarebytes.

Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

Open MBAM and in the settings remove the tick from start with windows and active protection. Use it as an on demand scanner
