Win32:Evo-gen[Susp]

When I was loading up my Tradestation application this morning I got a pop-up saying “Suspicious file blocked”, referring to tsOptRep.dll and orchart.exe. This is a safe application, but I wasn’t quick enough to press the “add the file to the scan exclusion list button”, so tradestation wouldn’t run.

There was nothing in the Virus Chest, so I restored to yesterday, started TS up again and pressed the “add the file to the scan exclusion list button” this time, but TS still won’t run.

How do I restore these files and get Tradestation running again?

SUBMIT the file to avast and mention that you believe it is a false positive.

how to send it…

You can upload files and send reports to avast here: http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php (change subject to suite Your case)

you can use mail

send to virus@avast.com in a password protected zip file
mail subject: False Positive / undetected sample (select subject according to your case)
zip password: infected

or you can send files from avast chest
how to use the chest. http://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB21

I can’t upload the file from the virus chest because the virus chest is empty.

I need to know what Avast has done with the file so I can send it for false-positive analysis and restore it (and get my system running again).

if you are unable to restore missing files and/or the program won’t run after having files removed, i suppose you will have to reinstall the program…

to prevent this from happening again, in the future, you should adjust the avast program’s settings so that it doesn’t automatically delete files that it flags… instead, set it to “ask”…

avast needs to warn people that the “avast” program is set to automatically delete files that it flags, and that it flags lots of legitimate files which shouldn’t be removed…

according to your screenshot it was blocked…
to you find the file at orginal location?

if so, move it to avast chest manually (it will only be a copy) then send from chest
see the how to do it guide i gave you

Select add to exclusions if you are happy with the file
