WIN32:GOABOT-2250(wrm

I had this Trojan horse worm. I think Avast got it all, but I need the Check sheet to go through all the steps to ensure it is really gone. Is there such an instruction sheet to check to see if the worm is gone? I’m running Win XP SP2, on a self built system.

Thanks in advance…

I think you must search the internet for specific information regarding this worm. Good Luck.

What action did you take when it was detected, delete move to chest, etc. ?
How was it detected, email being checked on download, or routine scan, etc. ?
You can run a full system scan, or schedule a boot-time scan from within avast.

What was the file name, where was it found
example (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx)?

Welcome to the forums, Hankster122.

Are you sure you have typed in … WIN32:GOABOT-2250 … correctly?

A search of this forum produces only your post and a Google search produces no results for this.

If you have typed this in correctly, perhaps it is a new worm variant. ???

I assumed it was a typo as there are no avast virus database entries for goabot but 2145 for gaobot and 1 hit for gaobot-2250, see image, but we still need more info from Hankster122.
