Win32:IBryte-BC [PUP] in avast chest

Hi, hope you can help me work out what to do next. I ran an avast boot scan today for the fun of it, which identified a file which I moved to the chest:

Original file name:
A0116736.exe

Original folder:
C:\System Volume Information_restore{46DE8921-1D39-44D2-A9E9-64119261F211}\RP1321

Size of file:
777512

Last modification time:
25/03/2013 21:48:57

Time of transfer to Chest:
15/04/2013 17:40:37

Category:
Infected files

Virus description:
Win32:IBryte-BC [PUP]

File ID:
12

I’ve tried searching for info on this but can’t find anything on this specific type, so don’t know if I can delete it and if I need to do more to clean my PC?

I’ve run AdwCleaner - log attached
I ran MBAM - didn’t find anything, log attached
I ran OTL - logs attached

Any advice? Many thanks!

The file was found in a system restore point, any other adware you had was removed by AdwCleaner

Are you experiencing any problems

Not experiencing any problems, its not a new PC so not particularly fast anyway.

Ok to delete this from the chest then?

cheers…

Yes delete form the chest

Thanks essexboy

This seems to be fine but scans now finding Win32:Evo-gen issues but I’ll put them in a new thread and link back to this.

What files are being reported, as evo-gen is a new way of finding bad files and does sometimes make a mistake
