Win32:Kamso trojan

I am posting this on behalf of a non-technical friend. After not using her laptop for several weeks when she recently used it she got warning that it was infected with a virus.
When I ran a scan it indicated the Kamso trojan was detected and I told it to delete the infected files. When I went to the Avast site there is no mention of Kamso when I do a search.
What is the recommended procedure for removing this trojan?
Thanks for any assistance,
Patricia
p.s. is this the sort of virus that could be transmitted via a USB key? Can Avast be used to scan a key?
