Win32:Malware-gen in Assassin's Creed RegistrationReminder.exe FP?

I am getting a Win32:Malware-gen virus warning on the file: Assassin’s Creed\RegistrationReminder.exe. It is an original, legitimate program from the CD so assume it is a false positive.

How do I make sure that is true?
Assuming that is true, am I supposed to advise Avast that this is an issue? Where?

test the file at www.virustotal.com with 43 malware scanners (max 20mb)
when you have the result, copy the url in the address bar and post it here

you can send the file to virus @ avast . com in a password protected zip.file
subject: False Positive
Password: infected
