Win32: Malware-gen in Boot Time Scan

Just wanted to give a heads up that last week Avast! webs shield alerted me to a “Win32: Malware-gen” from an ad on a web-page, it said it the stopped connection. However, When I ran a boot time scan it was picked up in my system in “outlook2003.cab”. I was not able to move it, delete it, or any of the other options given when a boot time scan picks something up. I could not manually remove the file and ended up wiping my drive. (Side note: Had the most current version of malwarebytes and it didn’t even register the file, or during a scan.)

This was not so big of a deal as I had just backed up my data, outside of spending a day reinstalling all my stuff. Follow-up scans found no infections. I’m sorry I don’t have a file or data to upload for examination, but wanted to know if anyone else had this problem?

"outlook2003.cab".
I believe that is the e-mail repository and it may have been an FP on Avasts part

hmmm I wondered about that. I never used, even set up the outlook stuff over here. AND after I wiped the drive and started from scratch, the file doesn’t exist…

There was 2 or 3 more of these office files detected, but could only find this now…

Thanx Pondus, that was it “{outlook2003.cab} FINDER.EXE” Meh, can’t believe I wiped my frakin drive for that…Ah well, was do for a cleaning anyways.

Oh, but I wonder if it was just a coincidence that right before the web shield hit that same virus signature? Hmmmmm
