Win32:Malware-gen + others

Hi,

So I first got infected on Saturday and a friend said I should use the free Avast! version, which i downloaded and installed then ran a full scan which detected 9 trojans (from the same site).

When the scan finished it asked what I wanted to do with the viruses, so I moved them to the chest (best option?) because they can’t be run and if I tried to delete them theres no guarantee they would be deleted…

And just now I got infected again by going to the same site… it’s a news paper site (The Sun) from the advertisements, which i’ve reported to them about. However this time because it protected me before it had a chance to do any damage it moved my Firefox into the chest… and it said there was a virus in the operating memory, which also said this on Satursday (done a boot scan then which found another 4) and it’s currently doing a boot scan for today aswell for it. So far its only found Win32:mIRC-Z which I hear is a false report?

I ain’t the best when it comes to viruses, however this is the first lot of viruses i’ve had in 3 years. What I was wondering is, if I reinstall Firefox will it cause a problem with the firefox.exe in the chest because it’s infected or will it be ok? and is the chest the best option for the kind of viruses I have?

I have a screenshot of the results from Saturday which is here:

(Sorry if not allowed)

If anyone can help me I would be greatful.

Regards,
