Thanks – but it looks like Avast removed it…is there anything I should look for to see if there was anything done to my computer?
You can run Free Mbam. (Update it before…!)

I did that…
One last question, can anyone of the win32 malware gen do anything to get private information from my computer?
You’re welcome…!

I redid my earlier question to ask
Can anyone of the win32 malware gen do anything to get private information from my computer?
Sure. Malware can do a lot of unwanted things…
Did avast catch it before it could get on your machine…??

It looks like it did as I saw the warning of capture come up just at startup…but if I run the Malwarebytes software and nothing comes up I should be ok, correct?
Is there any other way of knowing if something is happening…for example, if I do online banking or purchase something online…if there is any information being stolen?
Correct…!
Just to be sure you could run a boot time scan with avast. (32bit systems only)

You have been very kind…may I ask how I run run a boot time scan with avast? And what do you mean by a 32bit system? I am using the free version of avast.
Is your OS based on 32bit…?? (If you don’t know, which OS are you using…?)
If yes, you can run a boot time scan with avast. (Look in the GUI)

I am on a pc running Win XP
Well, most XP installations run on 32 bit, so you should be able to run a boot time scan…

I did and found 2 issues of win32 malware gen…I tried to delete and repair but I recieved a message saying that the operation was not supported for this type of archive (42111) and could not be repaired. I did some checking and I think that Avast may be thinking that these files – related to C:\Windows\Dowload Installations folder dealling with the Dell ControPoint Connection Manager – is a threat – if this is true – I need to find a way to have Avast trust them – but can not seem to find a way to do this…
