I recently updated to Avast Free 6.0.1000 from Avast Free 5.1.889 My OS is Win XP SP2. I have had very few problems with Avast… I recommend to others, however I am now having a frustrating problem. Yesterday I decided to start playing Guild Wars again. I have had the game for years and know it cannot be infected as it is on the original CD. An Error message popped up stating Malware had been blocked. Under the File System Shield log it states; File Name: Setup.exe Severity: High Threat: Win32:Morphex [cryp] Error Access is denied. I googled it to see what this was and found some info on Autorun malware, along with a post about this happening to another person on the same game. I scanned my system with Avast full scan, even a boot scan, Spybot, MBAM and all came up clean. I uninstalled Avast Free 6 and reinstalled Avast Free 5 and same problems. Now when I try to put the disc in to install it a pop up window comes up. Windows XP Setup: Please go to the Control Panel to install and configure system components. I can’t install it from My Computer either. They suggested on the game site to disable the AV while it installs but I really do not like being on line without an active AV. Any suggestions?

what gives??
i had this file stored in my hdd’s archive for over 3 - 4 yrs. now.

If you think it is a false positive, then submit it to avast as such: Submitting files from the Virus Chest to avast! Virus Lab
I got the same problem as you. I disabled Avast! for an hour, because I can’t do anything with that virus (for example: repair, delete).
I removed Avast and problem disappeared. Switching anti-virus on optiplex d610.
