My antivirus program detected the worm Mytob-CW (information.zip file), but when I wanted to move it to chest the program reports that en error occured during this action.
I’d like to know what can I do, because the system is shutting down frequently.
Help!
Shedule a boot time scan. See if that solves it.
It did not help. Avast still reports the worm and cannot delete it.
Did you try scanning with antispyware and antitrojans applications?
There are a lot of suggestions in these forums…
I’m sure one of the more technically inclined members here will be able to help you but in the mean time, are you aware that Microsoft has released a patch fixing this issue with Mytob? You see what I learned in the past from having my computer slammed by the blaster virus which also constantly reboots the computer is that the best antivirus apps in the world such as avast! can’t always stop a virus from taking advantage of an exploit in your Windows operation system. Unless you have a pirated copy of Windows you should check in at least twice a month at www.microsoft.com to make sure you have all available security updates. Infact it has been a good while since Microsoft released a patch for this worm.
