Win32:nitro

Im using Avast 5 Home edition and something weird is happening…

Now and then when i click on some program files on a backup drive it says they are infected with this virus and sends to the chest.

Now ive done a FULL virus scan twice and nothing is picked up yet now and then it still detects this in one or two program files. Is this a false positive?

Its really starting to annoy me now.

its win32.vitro my mistake

You got a real infection. You need to format and start over with a clean reinstall of your OS.

So back up all your personal files onto a disk or CD (Do not back up your files with a USB stick and do not back up any executables, music or video files. Only back up documents).

You can also use Dr. Web CureIt.

OMG I don’t think so that W32:Vitro is gone, there infections is still there?..

anyway it is a file infector my friend that is the one of the top 10 dangerous viruses.

you have nothing else to do but to format ur pc and install a fresh software so that u will avoid there infections.

try to read the all descriptions of that virus here: http://emantisoy.vze.com

Thats just it i DONT have it tho, its not infecting my my O/S and on scans they dont detect anything.

But now and then when i click on random program files on a backup drive it says its infected yet a scan says its not infected.

Is this false positives?

do you have any other antivirus programs installed?
did you have any installed before you installed avast?

i do have malwarebytes installed but was installed After Avast.

MBAM is not a antivirus…
Did you have any antivirus program before you installed avast ?
Did the computer come with norton or McAfee installed when new?
if so, have you removed/uninstalled it ? and run the corresponding uninstall tool to remove all traces from the program
can be found here http://uninstallers.blogspot.com/

nope the system is self built and Avast was installed on a fresh install on a new hardisk i bought just 4 days ago when i did the install.

I have scanned my system now using Panda Active scan online, Symantec Online scanner, Malwarebytes and Spybot and all say my system is totally clean!
