Win32:Searches

Greetings, I hope I’m not repeating too much here, but I’m confused about a trojan horse that showed up on my desktop. I have an Axesstel wireless modem and when I tried to activate it yesterday, I got a message about a Searches trojan - in fact, three:

C:\Program Files\Axesstel\Axesstel Manager\AXESSTEL_PIMS.exe contains sample of ‘Win32:Searches-E[trj]’!
C:\Program Files\Axesstel\Axesstel Manager\AXESSTEL_PHONE.exe contains sample of ‘Win32:Searches-E[trj]’!
C:\Program Files\Axesstel\Axesstel Manager\AXESSTEL_MAIN.exe contains sample of ‘Win32:Searches-E[trj]’!

And then the computer couldn’t find the modem program. I uninstalled the modem files, ran a boot scan, which found some Searches viruses, which I deleted, and then I tried to reinstall the files. When I ran the installer program, it came up with the same messages as it installed the files listed above. I tried this a couple times and moved the files once and tried No Action once, but in each case, the computer couldn’t find the program after it was installed.

Can you give me any help on this? Thanks, Garrett

update your VPS… this false alarm has been fixed already afaik…

Thanks guys! I guess Avast! is such a good program that I’ve been able to remain completely ignorant of the world of viruses for the past four years. I’ll try updating the vps, but the other thing is new to me - I’ve never heard of Reflexive before, but I guess worms can get in everywhere. (That’s why they’re called worms, I suppose).
