Win32:Sirefef-AHF [Trj]

I keep getting “Trojan horse blocked” warning popups from avast. Object: c:\recycler\s-1-5-18$d06fff8e1c4ab8e1772eb5317cda72a1\U\80000032, Infection: Win32:Sirefef-AHF [Trj], Process: c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe. I’ve tried Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, ComboFix(wont run), TDSSKiller, OTL and SpyHunter and none of them found anything. Is there a program tool to fix this? I’m running XP pro sp3 and avast free edition. I’m attaching the avast! Real-time Shield Scan Report.

Could you follow the steps in this thread and attach the resultant logs here

Here is the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware logs.

Are you able to access safe mode with networking ?

If so delete the current copy of Combofix
Download a fresh copy but prior to saving rename as Gotcha

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/ried7/NSIS_extraction.png

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
  2. Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
  3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

Was I suppost to run in safe mode? I didn’t, I just ran it as soon as it was downloaded but yes safemode with network does work. Well with the antivirus shut down it connected with a few sites because when i turned it on they popped up as being blocked and my system is slowed down again. Would RogueKiller work for this? I haven’t used it or downloaded it and i’ll wait to see what you say.

Yes lets do RogueKiller as that will give me a different look at the MBR

[*] Download RogueKiller and save it on your desktop.
[*]Quit all programs
[*] Start RogueKiller.exe.
[*] Wait until Prescan has finished …
[*] Click on Scan

[*]Wait for the end of the scan.
[*] The report has been created on the desktop.
[*] Click on the Delete button.

[*]The report has been created on the desktop.

[*]Next click on the ShortcutsFix

rootkill flashed a warning triangle and said ZeroAccess (Max++) then sent me to a website explaining how to remove ZeroAccess (Max++) this is it: http://tigzyrk.blogspot.com/2011/09/rootkit-zeroaccess-max.html By the way thanks for helping me, I really need it!

Ok i ran a full scan in mbam and it found 6 things and removed them all (log is attached) and it seems to have fixed it. I’m doing a full scan with avast to see if it finds anything.

i know i seem to be impatient or rude. but i really need help. can someone help me on my question? its by singh 21. i uploaded the 3 logs as well. thank you

We will have to delete that at kernel level - I am on GMT so there is a time zone difference

  1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.

[*] Follow the prompts and extract the avenger folder to your desktop

  1. Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

[*]On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
[*]After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
[*] The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

  1. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply.

Everything seems to be back to normal. Do you think this was from an advertising ad in a website?

Folder "C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-18\$d06fff8e1c4ab8e1772eb5317cda72a1" deleted successfully.
OK that killed it ;D As to where you got this from I have no idea, although looking at the folder location I would suspect a USB drive

How is the computer behaving now ?
