I have this virus that avast has found in a webshots program that I have been using off the internet for a couple of years. I put the exe. program in the virus CHEST and don’t know how to clean it up so I can get all my pictures back. any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Do you mean laucher.exe?
Why don’t you just search for the ‘Colletions’ folder and backup your photos?
Then, uninstall WebShots and install it again, copying back the photos.
If you’re using a recent version, the photos will have the extension .wb1 and will be at folders called album-1000X
To clean up the Chest? Let the file there for more some days, it’s safe.
After you get your system clean, just right click the file into Chest and choose ‘Delete’. 8)
Was the virus detected in the one executable only? (if you run a disk scan, no other file is found infected?)
Tenga is a file infector, so I wouldn’t recommend to delete the files…
Would be VRDB able to fix that?
I must say I don’t know - but the recent embedded Cleaner should be, i.e. the Repair button should work.
