hey short answer to the first question yes. but if you want a check up please follow this guide and attach your logs.
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
we need the logs from adwclener, mbam otl and aswmbr.
the second question i don’t understand?
Win32 toolbar-M(Pup)PUP = not a virus / Possible Unwanted Program.... in your case, it seems to be a toolbar
AdwCleaner from the guide Mikaelrask gave you will probably remove it…if you want to
Also is it poss to sort out this Cab archive corrupted problemjust a scan error report from avast, and it does not mean infected.... so nothing avast will take any action on
if you look at the scan result… then put your mouse pointer on the vertical bar just in front of severity and dragg sideways, then the full file path should be visible… take a screenshot and attach here, then we may be able to give you more info
Just done a complete system scan and found win32 malware-gen so now doing bootscan
hey again please follow the guide i posted above.
a malware expert will help you from there.
I think it is somewhat early to go down this route (full analysis) other than to run the AdwCleaner tool, which should remove bad toolbars.
We need to know what the PUP detection is, file name and location. The PUP may be a toolbar loaded by the user, so that needs to be confirmed.
The archive corrupt has been covered.
+1 to that DavidR. just wanted to get the ball rolling
