i have a Win32: Trojan-gen {Other} in my C:\System Volume Information_restore…bunch of numbers… .exe
i was doing an avast! system scan and 30 min into it a avast! warning popped up claiming that i have that trojan. i have not decided whether i should move it to the chest or if i should try and delete it. I don’t know which one is the best thing to do. moving it to the chest could mean more work right?
I do not know how to get rid of this.
How do i get rid of it safely without harming my system restore file?
also in windows task manager. explorer.exe and iexplore.exe seem to be taking up too much CPU time each are both taking up about 6:00 min. does not sound right.
I don’t know what to do.
Help!
Anyone who can help me out on this. believe me i greatly appreciate it!
Yes, it allows further actions with that file (scan, restore…).
I suggest:
Clean your temporary files.
Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on. If avast does not detect it, you can try DrWeb CureIT! instead.
Use SUPERantispyware, MBAM or Spyware Terminator to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete than.
it will NOT let me put the virus in the chest. says that the virus chest server is not running… soooo communication failed. I’m screwed.
i just wanna get rid of this trojan without having to reinstall my operating system. again.
last time this happened the virus was so bad that i could not get rid of it. sooo. thus i went to putting pictures and whatnot on a cd. but now i’m thinking i should have probably scanned them for virus’s first. and i probably just transferred the virus from the computer that was infected…to this computer. what a DRAG…
HELP. is there ways to avoid reinstalling the operating system?
also i think i have a couple of hackers on my computer which i’m NOT too happy about.
what is a Hijacker?
it doesn’t sound too good for me and this computer.

go to pdhell and find uninstall McAfee
do the drill
it will conflict with Avast big time
Sometimes, McAfee won’t be completely removed if, before, you do not uninstall Avast, including the use of its “Uninstall Application” if necessary (www.avast.com/eng/faq-install-uninstall-avast.html).
alright how do i know if i fully got rid of mcaffee?? i went to add/remove programs and removed it. and then restarted my computer earlier in the day. there are no longer any signs of Mcaffee in Task Manager. and no signs in my computer as far as i know. so is it for surely gone?
could there be any suggestive good quality firewalls you could give me a link to.?
