Win32:Trojan-gen on user-installed version of cgiminer.

I installed a copy of cgiminer from the download page linked to by the github source for this bitcoin miner application (http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/). I ran it connected to my own pool for several days, then after a reboot, Avast decided that it was a virus.

I think this is a false positive since I installed this software from a legit source. Am I wrong?

I know that there are a couple of pieces of malware that are installing cgiminer to rob GPU from unsuspecting folks via the Fariet family of malware, but is there a way to detect this malware that doesn’t just auto-flag use of cgiminer.exe as a virus?
