I just updated the virus definition file to 435-2.
After scanning my system it reveals a Win32:Trojan-gen. {Other} in the file C:\sp.exe
Is this a false positive or is my system really infected ?
Unless sp.exe is a file you intentionally downloaded and know what it is (programme executables may have any possible name), chances are it’s in fact related to something nasty (probably Coolwebsearch).
I didn’t dowload this file, so how it did get there I don’t know.
So referring to your answer I can asume that it will not do any harm if I delete this file from my system or not ?
Please post a HijackThis file and do in the mean time as Vlk suggested. I got a feeling HJT will display some more thingson your system that shoouldn’t be there.
