Hello, in the past few days I got 3 times a warning from avast that a virus was found, called win32:trojan-gen{other}. I have put them in the virus chest, but I don’t know how to deal with this problem. My computer runs on XP and my virus database is up to date. The last 2 times I got a warning the virus was found in the same file.
Please send the suspected files to support@asw.cz as soon as possible. We are about to release the new update during next several hours and if this is a false alarm, we would like to remove it soon!
regards,
Pavel
The infected file is in the system volume information, so I can’t send it to you.
Why not? When avast shows the virus warning, use the clipboard to copy the full file path. Then in your mail program, just insert the attachment using this full path. Should work without problems…

I had moved the file to the virus chest. Now I’m trying to restore it into its original folder, but that doesn’t work. The file remains in the virus chest. Is there an explanation for this? Or can I send the file from the the virus chest?
This was the original file I found the virus in: C:\System Volume Information_restore{FE991DB6-DFCB-40E2-AC6F-167A127120E1}\RP50\A0007641.exe. I extracted it from the chest to a new folder which I will send to you.
Excellent thanks.
Sorry, but I can’t send the file to you. I have tried, but when I attach the file to the mail, it give a message: Can not open file…
Anyway, I hope this problem will be solved by the next update.
Update is allready released. Try to find if it is fixed.
No, it is not fixed. Today I got another virus warning from the same virus.
I will try again to send the file to you. I also have runned a scan with the online karpersky virusscanner, but it found no virus. I really don’t know what to do.
If it still is in the same folder (System Volume Information), you can get rid of it by using this link: http://vil.nai.com/vil/SystemHelpDocs/DisableSysRestore.htm
also ive just been getting the same virus problem… This is the directory where it is located
C:\System Volume Information_restore{3900F818-1863-460F-9713-E4AE628E4DFE}\RP360\A0160508.dll Unsure what it is or how it got there…

Ok will do and let you know how the outcome is Hopefully all gone
I have deleted the virus several times, so that’s not a problem. But the virus keeps coming. Now I’ll try the link you gave me, and see what the result is. I let you know.
I have been waiting for a while, and it seems like the virus is gone.
