Hi pucycat,

That warning is from webshield, it means it stopped the malware before it got onto your system, however i looked at your log and saw it was infected before hand, here are my suggestions:

THESE ITEMS ARE EITHER HARMFULL OR A SECURITY RISK
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO FIX THEM :

r1 - hkcu\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\internet settings
o2 - bho: msntoolbandbho - {bdbd1dad-c946-4a17-adc1-64b5b4ff55d0} - c:\program files\msn apps\msn toolbar\01.02.3000.1001\en-us\msntb.dll
o3 - toolbar: msn - {bdad1dad-c946-4a17-adc1-64b5b4ff55d0} - c:\program files\msn apps\msn toolbar\01.02.3000.1001\en-us\msntb.dll
o4 - hklm..\run: [msnappau] “c:\program files\msn apps\updater\01.02.3000.1001\en-us\msnappau.exe”
o4 - hklm..\run: [salm] c:\temp\salm.exe
o16 - dpf: {9e6c7461-fe4a-41a9-9d35-7468796cf9e7} (avxcontrol class) - http://threatlevel.pcsecurityshield.com/control/avxnew.dll
o16 - dpf: {f54c1137-5e34-4b95-95a5-ba56d4d8d743} (secure delivery) - http://www.gamespot.com/kdx/zd/kdx.cab

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE NOT NEEDED TO LOAD
AT BOOTTIME FOR THE SYSTEM TO WORK PROPERLY :

o4 - hklm..\run: [winampagent] “c:\program files\winamp\winampa.exe”
o4 - hklm..\run: [speedtouch usb diagnostics] “c:\program files\alcatel\speedtouch usb\dragdiag.exe” /icon
o4 - hklm..\run: [tkbellexe] “c:\program files\common files\real\update_ob\realsched.exe” -osboot
o4 - global startup: microsoft office.lnk = c:\program files\microsoft office\office\osa9.exe
o4 - HKLM..\Run: [kdx] C:\WINDOWS\kdx\KHost.exe

Then open taskmanager (Alt + ctrl + Del) and select the processes tab at the top, then select the processes below one at a time and press ‘Kill Process’:

salm.exe
msnappau.exe

Then delete these files:

C:\tempsalm.exe
C:\Program Files\MSN Apps\Updater\01.02.3000.1001\en-usmsnappau.exe

Also you may want to delete the folder below, as i know this is not a default MSN folder, and therefore could be Malware, but i don’t know if you use any special add-ons to MSN messenger, so its up to you if you delete it, and deleting the folder will not prevent you from using MSN messenger, the folder is:

C:\Program FilesMSN Apps

After this you may want to run programs such as

Ad-Aware: http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=506&file=9&evp=8dbaff7daca8f4b55bf695220993fc0f

Spybot: http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=2471&file=9&evp=2470f9bfb0cc682334ff8c4459556118

Also run ccleaner to get rid of all them bad temp files: http://www.ccleaner.com/ccdownload2.php

Then reboot your machine, go to windows update (www.windowsupdate.com) and install all critical updates.

If you don’t already have a hardware or software firewall (doesn’t look like you have one) install one, here is a good free one: http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/free/1012_zl/zlsSetup_55_062_011.exe

then redo and repost your hijackthis log so we can check your system is clean.

Besides the things Lee told you:

1] Your system is not up to date
2] Your browser is not up to date
3] If you have MS-Office installed it is very likely also not up to date
4] You are running NAV and Avast which is definatly not recommended.
