Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}

hi, I ran avast antivirus scan and it found Win32:Trojan-gen {Other} in the folder c:\windows\dbxosngx.exe. What should I do? Here are the results from viruscan.

It looks like a valid detection.

Allow avast! to put the file in the Chest (quarantine).

As FWF said this looks like a good detection, even though the Viruscan results are from an old version of the avast VPS as you see avast does detect it.

There may however be other elements, so it might be worth using these applications to check that out.
If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode and report the findings (it should product a log file).

  1. SUPERantispyware On-Demand only in free version.
    Don’t worry about tracking cookies, a minor pain in the rear, more privact than security.

  2. MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, On-Demand only in free version http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/malwarebytes/mbam-setup.exe, right click on the link and select Save As or Save File (As depending on your browser), save it to a location where you can find it easily later.
