win32 trojan-gen problem

hi there :slight_smile: i found 4 of Win32 Trojan-gen in the System Volume Information folder but cant delete this by avast and i cant even enter this folder to try delete this myslef , i actually dont see thif folder but i used the path given me during the scan and put it in the adress bar and then it writes me that the acces to the folder is denied… any advises ? thanks :slight_smile:

The c:\System Volume Information folder is a part of the system restore function and as such is protected by windows, the only way to clean infected _restore points is to disable system restore and reboot. This will clear ALL _restore points. Once you have disabled system restore, reboot, scan your PC again and if clear enable system restore.

You need to show Hidden Files and Folders in explorer, Tools, Folder Options, View tab to be able to see it.

:slight_smile: thanks for the answer … but know after i turned off this … avast didnt find the viruses when i scanned … lol :smiley: fuck them i will let them stay hope they wont make too much troubles…

After you disable system restore and reboot ALL restore point wil be gone including the infected ones, that is why nothing will be found.

That is the whole idea of the scan to confirm there is no infection before re-enabling system restore.
