Win32:Trojan-gen (UPX!)

I run Avast at least once a week on thorough setting. Today, after downloading a new database the run produced two warnings for this virus, one in Leaktest.exe from www.grc.com. (The other I can’t remember, nor can I find how to access the chest to check what it was.) As previous runs and a later run have not highlighted this problem, was it a false positive?

These files are ‘riskware’: could do the good or the bad… antivirus can’t know if the file is there because you want to ‘test’ a leakage or they’re there exploiting a leakage… So, yes, it’s a false positive as you use that file for good.
You can add that file to the avast exclusion lists (on-access and on-demmand).
Welcome 8)

The latest VPS corrects the leaktest.exe file detection, so if you haven’t already updated to 0708-1.

Thanks for the reassuring replies.

Avast just told me it had downloaded a new database (I have it on automatic).

No problem, welcome to the forums.
