Win32: Trojan-gen (UPX)

Hi People!
Recently whenever I start up my laptop, avast tells me that my laptop is infected with Win32: Trojan-gen (UPX), in [C:\WINDOWS\system32\confi.exe]. I tried reparing it but they say cannot repair. I also tried deleting and moving it to chest but to no avail, it still comes back whenever I restart my laptop. I tried conducting scan to scan my laptop programs, C and D drives but they did not spot any virus. But then avast keeps on detecting this virus whenever I start up my laptop. Someone please help me!!! I’m really very lost!!!

I am having a similar problem. I run Avast everyday and usually don’t have any virus’ detected then two days ago it found 30 infected files (Trojan). As it found them up it recommended to “Move to Chest” which I did. After it finished scanning, it told me an error had occurred and it couldn’t move any of the infected files to “Move to Chest”. So what do I do. I performed a thorough scan again this morning and it didn’t pick up any of them. What’s going on?

There has recently been a topic relating to confi.exe (I suggest a forum search in this forum for confi.exe) and if I recall it was very persistent.
