Help!! I have the Win32:Trojano-242 virus, every time I “delete” it, it returns, sometimes it says it cannot be deleted at all. What should I do? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!! Thanks, Amber

I also just got an avast! warning the the same trojan had infected several of my backup software’s files (Genie). I scanned with Trojan Hunter (also resident), Spybot, Spysweeper (also resident), AdAware SE, Trend Housecall and Panda online. All were negative. I had disabled system restore.
I just returned from a 5 day trip and the only browsing I’ve done has been to check mail on Yahoo. I installed service pack two and enabled the firewall. I have a hardware firewall. So, I find it odd that my machine could have gotten infected with such limited exposure. Could this be a false positive?

Hi,
this trojan is supposed to be SPYWARE:
INFO
→ please enter
TROJANO-242
into the board-search above for more info
- read “VirusRemoval” below in my sig
- give us the exact path/folder/filename fo the suspected trojan file
- was AVAST SHIELD(s) paused when you used the other scanners ? Also try RAV & KAV-Scanners, please
→ if thus you can confirm a false positive, please send the file in to avast
was Windows FULLY uptodate/patched before you applied SP2 ?
are your Browser settings secure `?
you might want to post a hijackthis-Log for diagnosis: http://hjt.klaffke.de/en

DavidR,
After the latest signature update, avast! no longer detects the trojan. I’ll assume it’s a false positive.
thanks
