win32:VB-ECI Trojan

Hi guys
i have a win32:VB-ECI trojan thats starting to infect my pc, wat should i use2 remove it

i have avast antivirus, which jus picks it up but cannot fully remove it
and also spydoctor search & destroy…

help plz

Why can’t avast deal with it, any errors displayed, file in use, etc. ?

Do you mean it removes it but it continues to come back ?

What is the infected file name, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?
Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast ‘a’ icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections.

If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode and report the findings (it should product a log file).

  1. If using winXP or Vista SUPERantispyware On-Demand only in free version. Or Spyware Terminator Resident scanner (if you use this don’t install the toolbar or crawler or the anti-virus module). Or a-Squared free On-Demand only with free version(if using win98/ME).

What Operating System are you using ?
If you have XP, vista32bit or Win2k, you could enable a boot time scan. Right click the avast icon, select Start avast! Antivirus, Menu, ‘Schedule boot-time scan…’ Or see http://www.digitalred.com/avast-boot-time.php.

Avast cannot repair the virus, it can only move to chest or delete.
the infected files are all .exe and critical windows files

im running windows xp, service pack 2
goin2 try super antispyware now and let u know the results

Most trojans are the infection itself, only some executables (files) can be repaired.
This is normal.

Can you post name/path of them?
Did you submit the files to www.virustotal.com?
Has avast VRDB already been completed? (virus recovery database)

i tried uploading some of the infected virus on that website u sent, but windows doesnt allow me2.
the reason could be that they all critical windows .exe’s

the virus is mutating and more and more files are getting infected, all .exe’s

after a check with super anti-spyware nothing was found!
however my avast real time scanner, keeps picking up the virus & like i said it keeps mutating…

here is my last hijack this log.

Can you schedule a boot-time scanning?
Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning.
Select for scanning archives.
Boot.
If infected files are found, it’s safer to send them to Chest instead of deleting them.
This way you can further analysis them.

ok i did that
now how do i see wat files r in the chest

ok iv figured out how2 access the chest…

now how long should i keep these files in the chest, as some are critical windows files & i would like to get rid of them permanently

also wat this file has done has removed most of my programs from the start menu, i have manually readded them, but is ther anyway i can get them back
as im still searching for the nero express.exe

also i have 4 hdd, when i try and explore on my d:\ it asks me wat program must i use2 open, this could be coz the .exe has the virus, but how to i resolve that program as i now cant explore that hard drive
