Win32:Warezov-NM

recieved an email that my computer was infected with this worm and that I need to install updates for worm elimination and your computer restoring. Not sure what this means. I have all updates for this program. What do I do next.

You don’t say who the email was from, or if it was unsolicited ?

This could well be social engineering to make you download and install supposed updates, when in fact you will be infecting your computer. I assume the update was attached or there was a link in the email so you could update ?

Take these warnings with a large pinch of salt an a large degree of suspicion. Since this supposed infection Win32:Warezov-NM is one that avast should detect, avast rather than some unknown email would be notifying you of.

David was right about this: Warezov uses various methods of social engineering to try to get people to run a file which actually contains the worm.
