I consider myself computer literate. I scan everything i download plus a full scan usually shows nothing. However nearly every time i do a boot scan a Win32 pup of some variety shows up. I do download torrents and maybe porn but i scan what i download. Plus i immediately close those annoying popups associated with torrent sites so where are these pups coming form, any suggestions, the last one was somoto-j ?

avast PUP scan is default off exept for in boot scan ...... so if you want PUP detection, turn it on in all shields where you want it

Important:
Please be advised, that the Boot-time scan is an advanced and purposeful feature designed to be used only when there’s something bad going on the system, and usually takes some time before it finishes. That's why it cannot be scheduled to run every time the computer starts, but as needed only.

Sorry fro late reply and thanks for the reply. Downloaded and installed malware bytes which removed the PUPs. Also reconfigured avast for PUPs.
