Every time my computer startsup, there is a virus found. When I delete the WinAdcli-4 virus, it will be back next time I startup my computer.
How can I delete this virus for ever?

- What OS are you using? is it up to date?
- What email program are you using - if applicable?
- avast! version and VPS file (virus database) number, e.g. 0436-4 (see about avast!)
- What was the virus name, what was the filename, where was it found
example (C:\windows\system32\infected-filename.xxx)? - What actions have you taken to try and resolve the problem?

The W32Adcli virus is included in a past VPS update.
Firstly, update your Avast using the “Program” update which will update both your program for new versions, and your VPS virus database at the same time.
Then run a full scan. Avast should detect the W32Adcli since it is included in the VPS database.
When found, choose the Delete option. This SHOULD remove it.
Reboot your computer and run the scan again.
Keep in mind that AVAST will stop when it finds an infected file to prevent further contamination, so you may have to rerun the scan a few times.
