I got this threat after I did a self scan because I was running slow in IE.
When I asked Avast to place it in the container I got this error message: “The system can not find the file specified(2). The file was users…\downloads\searchtoolbars.exe” Any advice???
Try this
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.46 http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
always update the program before you scan
click the remove selected button to quarantine anything found
please post the scan log here
Hey
if you haven’t run
the malware is inactive and can’t do any harm.
Fact: The user needs to run the malware in order for the malware to do damage or what they are instructed to do (unless they are self-executive of course).
I have downloaded the searchtoolbars.exe and i wonder if I have downloaded the correct one (look at the attached pic)?
go to the users…\downloads\searchtoolbars.exe and right-click and tell me it says.
I will look it in case.
Thanks
