hi, what shall i do with this, Ive put it in chest ,i read that win32 zlob can be deleted (typed same QUESTION into yahoo gave me AVAST this is where it said it could be deleted)
sorry if this has been asked before but cant find win32 zlob-TC in threadsjavascript:replaceText(’ :-[', document.postmodify.message);
Embarrassed
You have done the right thing, ‘first do no harm’ don’t delete, send virus to the chest and investigate.
There is no rush to delete anything from the chest, a protected area where it can do no harm. Anything that you send to the chest you should leave there for a few weeks. If after that time you have suffered no adverse effects from moving these to the chest, scan them again (inside the chest) and if they are still detected as viruses, delete them.
Win32:zlob-TC was only added recently (13.1.2007 - 0703-0) so it may not feature in the forums yet. Here you can find The VPS History and if you are using firefox can search the page for malware, http://www.avast.com/eng/vps_history.html.
Hi luckyidol,
You seem secure for now, and I reckon you are. Now if this malware starts to re-appear, and only then, you’d have to identify the process and where it was added into the registry in SAFE MODE to really kill it (files and registry item), else the registry has a way of restoring this malware again and again. After appropriate cleansing in SAFE MODE and a reboot you are rid of it for good.
