Is there a way to scan the computer before windows open when rebooting or starting the computer in the bootup area???
Yes it’s called a boot time scan… Start avast! antivirus then right click anywhere in the skin and select Schedule boot time scan, it will ask you for a restart click OK and that’s it

Thanks for the response …but when i open the window in the skin the boot time schedule is in grey and i do not have access to it …maybe my settings are not right …i have avast 4.6 professional so i don’t understand ???
rayboy Try a repair of Avast
Start/control panel/add remove programs/select Avast/change-repair/ You must be online for the repair to complete–Reboot
and try your boot-time scan again
Sounds like you are using Windows 9x… the boot-time scanner is not available there, sorry.

Yes, Windows ME belongs to Win9x, so the boot-time scanner is really not available there.
