Windows 10 Action Center Message "Check virus protection"

On Windows 10 startup,an Action Center message appears “Windows Defender and Avast Antivirus are both turned off. Tap or click to see installed antivirus apps.” Avast subsequently starts without taking any action.

Message began occurring after recent Windows 10 update.

Repair Avast:

Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
Click on ‘Repair’.
Follow instructions.
Reboot.
