Windows 10 Avast keeps disabling itself.

My Avast keeps disabling itself after a few hours has passed on my computer. It’s very annoying. I already tried doing a full removal using their tool, then re downloaded and installed Avast. It’s still doing it. Then, when I turn it back on, it says “Failed to load UI” and I have to click restart service, then everything turns back on, then it will shut back down a few hours later.

What exact OS/SP ?
What exact version of avast ? (version, number, build)
Is there any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)
Are you using power saving mode, fast boot etc ?
Any other problems ?

Windows 10 Pro
Avast Version 17.4.2294
No other security. All windows security programs have been disabled.
No power saving modes.
No other issues with my computer other than the Avast issue. Everything else in Avast works just fine.

Give this a try :

  • Remove avast through control panel
  • Run avastclear
  • Reboot
  • Remove all leftovers manually
  • Reboot
  • Install the latest avast version with the off-line installer

Let’s see if that solves it.

Ok, well I just did that. Let’s see if that fixes it. Thanks for your help so far.

You’re welcome.

Nope, that did not work. It is still doing it.

I am having the same issue on one of my PC’s running the Creators update (other machines do not have this update and are running fine).

Did all of the following

  • Remove avast through control panel
  • Run avastclear
  • Reboot
  • Remove all leftovers manually
  • Reboot
  • Install the latest avast version with the off-line installer

TWICE!

Once I do the above steps it works until the next time I restart.
