Windows 10 CREATORS UPDATE: Avast "UI Failed to load".

Hi Guys,

I have read through all the threads with this error - “UI Failed to load”

Tried all the “solutions” inc clean installs and installing from offline installation file and so on.

I have 3 systems in this state with Avast Internet Security.

One of the systems is updated to the new CREATORS Win 10 update. The other two are Win 10 updates done up as far as Creators update. Creators not installed yet.

All three started giving me the “UI Failed to load” error. Avast system tray icon red X.

After trying all the “solutions” which did not work, I decided to remove Avast from all three for the moment / temporarily. I have wasted enough time already trying to solve this on 3 systems.

I am long enough in the puter / IT game now to have reached this conclusion ( Just my two cents only ). My opinion is this error is as a result of recent WIN 10 updates?? Particularly PRE CREATORS UPDATE updates which came to prep systems for the Creators update? It seems Windows Defender plays a bigger part in Creators inc this Windows Defender type console thing that sits in your system tray telling you about all your security issues or not.

I reckon Avast has some issue with these recent updates and with Creators? Maybe it only happens on some systems and not others based on what else is / is not installed on these systems. Plus what update state these systems are at.

Somethings broken anyway … so for now I am leaving my PAID FOR Avast off my three systems until this gets sorted. And sorted it will be because I would definitely bet in about a month or two away from this major Windows update cycle and with a few more iterations of Avast updates this “UI Failed to load” will miraculously disappear / no longer be an issue.

I am not deserting Avast, Im just cannot waste any more time on “solutions” that dont work for me.

Also BTW - amongst all my clients I have them all using AVAST internet Security- all with Win 7, Win10. Some of them have been having other issues like booting into windows 10 temp profile with that sign out or dismiss box. Only way to sort is to dismiss, update AVAST and after reboot all is well again. Not sure if thats also a precursor / related. However - in recent times these clients could be having this issue unknownst to themselves. It is only flagged with the AVAST red x’ed icon in the system tray and Windows defender now taking over as main Anti Vir app. I work with clients on a CALL OUT basis, when they call me with an issue. I am not onsite daily. So others amongst them could be having the same issue currently.

PS - Here is another observation. I started getting alerts about a month out ( its now 11 days away ) that my avast was up for renewal. Coincidentally ONLY … it was around then I started getting this “UI Failed to load” on my three systems.

Did you use avastclear when performing the clean installation ?

On a note, you could try the latest Beta to see if it solves things.

“Did you use avastclear when performing the clean installation ?”

Yes EDDY. The whole 9 yards

Inc reboot to safe mode as instructed etc etc. As i said I tried all solutions given to date.

I am just bringing this up here to state I am temporarily not using avast as a temp solution to this issue.

MY OPINON ONLY, I might be incorrect - I think this is an AVAST issue that the mothership has not solved yet? No “solutions” will actually work until avast sort this? Recent windows updates seem to have amplified this problem. You probably, the same as i have been around this sort of thing with MICROSOFT updates over the years. Unwittingly going out on calls to sort an issue that frankly we could never solve because the only solution is the next windows update the following tuesday

No disrespect to Avast - but time is money as they say. I have spent more than enough time already on this issue. i will know over next few weeks if similar is happening out in my customer base whoall have avast because of my recommendation.

No i have not tried beta … If i get a chance later i will try that DEFINITELY and report back here if that solved the problem, thanks!

Was just asking because many people say to have performed a clean installation but did not use avastclear and/or removed everything manually.

Yes, I’ve been around except when I was on holiday ;D
