Just received KB 4495667 MS 2019/04 Cumulative Update on both Win 10 machines.

Windows 10 Won’t Boot When Using System Restore After Updating
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/windows-10-wont-boot-when-using-system-restore-after-updating/

Another fine mess.

It isn’t a mess. It’s a fact that System Protection is disabled by default in Windows 10.
If it is disabled, Windows is not able to create restore points.
So this problem is actually caused by the user who wasn’t aware of this fact.

Most users don’t delve into the OS settings until they experience a problem. If they don’t know about it, how are they to know what the problem is and what to do about it

@David,
They made the change that caused the problem. By default, there isn’t any problem if you’re using System Restore.

Just receiving now Win 10 cumulative update KB4497934

7934 ??? I have a 7932?

Yup, 7934

I got that one a couple of hours ago then I followed with manual update search and found Win 10 1903, all installed and running fine

Just checked for additional updates but there aren’t any.

If you have 4497932 then you are on Win 10 1903, I got 4497932 and 4495620 after updating to the new 1903 release.

Very cumbersome, long update process and very long time with "setting up personalization settings for: Web Platform customizations.
A precursor to 1903??

Does the update to 1903 loose the installed app with 1809?

I only have a few apps and they all remained after the update, no new ones were installed either.

OK thanks.

Edit: Just did a manual update search; no 1903 here yet.

That’s not what I see on my system:

1903 Installed Cleanly via usb created with Media Creation tool

x64 version

Pro

Decided to reinstall Avast right off the bat, as figured used it for many many many years, and it does provide excellent protection, and finally leaving Defender alone for once–hopefully that lasts, and Ignore all the other forums around the net that say sometimes Avast not needed lol.

Performance so far great

Tomorrow updating Laptop hopefully from Windows Update over the top, and hopefully that goes smoothly, only a few games on Laptop, and Office 365, not much on that machine, and a little bit of HP programs

Moms Desktop might be a challenge, 5 to 6 years old, hopefully still supported

Overall very happy, Testing gaming performance later on
