A slight correction:
I have a Dell Mini that’s running Windows 8.1 but can’t run Windows 10 because it only has 1 gig of ram and can’t be upgraded.
Windows 10 min Ram requirement is 2 gig for 64 bit systems.

I discovered today when trying to use my Yahoo Fantasy Baseball page in Spartan that I was unable to change my roster for the day or to see current results in action. The site uses Flash for those things and it seems that Spartan does not support it. If Flash support is not enabled in the final version of Edge, that will be a deal breaker for me and I will continue to use IE as my default browser.

Next Generation Malware Detection with Windows Defender
http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Ignite/2015/BRK2327
I believe this is what Avast is already doing utilizing NG. ???
Might be the case
I cant wait for Avast 2016, in case i still need it if i see what MS is doing with Defender
But Microsoft can put these sensors and functions much deeper into Windows than any AV Vendor.
And Microsoft knows malware the best too. I will surely test the new Defender out if i can get a VM up on a new laptop
or spare machine, since my laptop decided to die last weekend…
I’m just instilling it on a computer that used to run Vista but had problems and needed to be formatted.
Intel Centrino vPro 2 gig of ram 100 TB HD Laptop
I dont know if all the protection is in yet, but i dont think so, its all work in progress still
100 TB Harddrive, isnt that a bit much :D?
This isn’t a new computer. It’s starting to show it’s age just like me…

‘Free’ Windows 10 Has High Cost To Windows 7 And Windows 8 Users

Might be all speculation at best. Only time will tell.

Pure speculation. There has been no indication anywhere that Windows is going to become subscription based. I have no idea where they’re getting that from and they provide nothing to support the notion. You’ll have to pay for it if you don’t take advantage of the free upgrade within a year, and you will pay for it on any new computers you purchase or build but that’s all that has been confirmed so far.
As soon as I read the article about W10 being the ‘last Windows Version’(paraphrased) I thought immediately that a “yearly paid subscription” is coming in the wind.
That wouldn’t surprise me at all.

I did not have that reaction at all. It simply meant to me that you would get free updates for your existing machine but would have to pay for it on new ones. Anything else would be pure inference.
It is happening to more and more software. The OS is nothing more than a large and complex program.
It makes sense that it will eventually be treated like all other software programs.
I’m not sure if it makes sense(from a user perspective) or whether I like the idea, I mean Paid for xp, W8-8.1 and never looked at cost again.
Having said that I agree with you from MS perspective…it’s coming
