Twice I tried to install the new release but it failed with the error 0x80070020.

See if you can find a solution here,

Windows 10 Alert: Defragger bug defrags SSD Drives too often
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/windows-10-alert-defragger-bug-defrags-ssd-drives-too-often/

That article should be pretty misleading from what I know, SSDs aren’t defragged by that tool, instead they’re trimmed and I’ve heard that you can trim a disk as much as you want.

That’s the problem with these One Liner notices. They’re designed to grab your attention
but not necessarily offer actual help.

Microsoft to resume Windows optional cumulative updates in July

Hi guys, as some are still using/running Avast together with Malwarebytes…

Malwarebytes causing performance issues in Windows 10 2004
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/malwarebytes-causing-performance-issues-in-windows-10-2004/

Malwarebytes since the release of version 4 has been a system hog.
I have a lifetime license but haven’t used the product for a long time.
It also hasn’t really found anything. IMHO, it’s really not needed if you have Avast running.

Windows 10, version 2004 and Windows Server, version 2004 (Updated June 24)
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/status-windows-10-2004

Great NOT.
If only I could get Windows 10 version 2004, can’t get past the bloody ‘your device isn’t yet ready,’ ‘you don’t have to do anything.’ A real contradiction.

Agree it is not great. However, there is a long list of bugs slated fir 2004, many which MS have marked as “Investigating”. These investigations have now been long running. I would rather wait for a new version that works, than one that has fatal bugs in it.

Have you even tried it? I’ve been running 2004 for months without problems on 4 separate and totally different computers without problems.

I think bob is trying to wind us up >:( Like DavidR, can’t try it as can’t get it (yet)!

Microsoft unveils new Windows 10 Start Menu with theme-aware tiles

Unless you’re a Microsoft insider, don’t expect to see this till the semi annula update from Mirosoft.

The way the 2004 feature update is progressing, I fear I will have to wait longer than that. That said some of the comments about the Classic Shell (edit AKA Classic Start) could be an option.
