Windows 10 & Firewall won't start

My Avast firewall won’t start. I’ve tried control panel/program repair and that didn’t fix the issue.
I’m sure it’s a conflict with MS 10 (it didn’t happen until today when I upgraded) but what can I do? Complete uninstall and reinstall? I’m old so don’t confuse me with a lot of tech speak-please.

Yes, I have the same problem - it looks like Windows10 activated its own firewall and de-activated my Avast Pro firewall, but I want re-instate my Avast Firewall. Who can assist with this?

@ juriem,
Avast Pro actually has no firewall. :wink:

@bobby-11-07-09,
try a clean install. :slight_smile:

TerraX-Thank you for the reply. I’m kidding you, but what part about me being old did you not understand? A clean install?
I won’t go for the cheap laugh about what a “dirty install” might be. So…?

Hi,

i mean a reinstall…sorry. :wink:

Be sure Windows Defender is deactivated completely in Win 10, as it interferes with Avast !

Hi guys,
we’ve also seen this problem and are currently trying to solve it – but usually a restart is all what is needed to make firewall run again (after upgrading to win10). Have you already did that? Thanks.
Lukas.

Thanks for all of the advice everybody. I’m just getting to this. FYI-Yes-I did try restarting before I wrote the community, yesterday.

However, between my last post and now, there has been W-10 update which I assume fixed the issue as I’m back in the green with everything active and updated.

I’m just curious, Did you have to reboot after the W10 update?
