Hi Lee55, welcome to the forum

Have you updated to Avast 2015 R3 SP1 (2015.10.3.2225) https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=174286.0

If you have updated, try a repair of Avast :

  1. Start - Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs - Avast! - Change.
  2. Repair.
  3. Follow the instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Hello,

I have the same problem with the Avast firewall since updating to Windows 10. I did update Avast, which didn’t change anything. So I tried repairing it through the control panel, but Avast appears as “not available” and my only option is to uninstall it. Any idea what I should do now?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I have the exact same problem after the Windows 10 update. Updating Avast didn’t change anything here either. I also tried to turn off Windows Defender but it didn’t work.

I hope this can be fixed easily somehow. Thanks for your help.

First try a reboot as that cleared my firewall problem in 10 … If that should fail then repair Avast

Hey ! Thanks a lot ! After a second reboot, the firewall issue was solved on my laptop !

I believe that is because of the way windows 10 upgrades and the second reboot clears all the flags

Thank you, rebooting twice worked for me as well.

For me too, the second reboot solved the issue.

Rebooting numerous times did nothing to solve my same issue, however running the repair option did. Once I did that and rebooted I was all good.

Thanks for the helpful information .

I had this problem just after upgrade too. Simple avast repair solved the firewall problem easily. But now virtual machines are gone, so no virtualization left (again) on my notebook ???

Same issue for me having updated to Windows 10 :frowning:

I’m having this problem too. I’ve tried multiple reboots and the repair option 3 times, and still no joy

Btw when I try to repair I get 'failed to load language dll language path: 1033\UlLangRes.dll

Try to remove avast completely and install it “freshly” again

What I ended up doing was typing “Windows Firewall” and disabling the Windows Firewall which is turned on by default. Then I restarted the computer and it fixed itself. If you look at your security overview through the Control Panel, you can see it states both of them are turned on and it may cause conflicts.

The avast firewall creates/causes no conflicts with the Windows Firewall. They compliment each other.
If all else fails try a clean install of avast.

Backup your avast settings…GUI>Settings>General> scroll down to “back up settings”.
Download and save your preferred version of avast https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=174286.msg1237838#msg1237838
Download and save the avast uninstaller http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avastclear.exe
Run uninstaller>accept the reboot into safe mode.
Reboot.
Install the avast version you selected. (Restore avast settings from above…GUI>Settings>General>scroll down to and click “restore settings”)
Reboot and either register or insert license.

avast v2015.10.3.2225 is Win10 compatible. I have it running on my HP Envy (upgraded to Win10 from Win8.1)
