Windows 10 Pro Redstone 1 build 14393.3 RTM: Security certificate problems

You’ll need to do a clean install when you’re ready to switch back to the stable (non beta) version. This makes that very easy:

Clean Install of Avast:

If you’re currently using the insider preview of Windows 10, you’re actually on the beta version of Windows 10.

Still seems to happen with the beta version as well. :frowning:

What version of Windows 10 are you actually running ???
open the run command - Windows key and R key and type winver
Post a screenshot of the image.

Please look at the attached file.

Here are my installed extensions in Edge:

I can’t duplicate your Certificate problem using edge or any of the other common browsers.
What other security related programs are you using ???

Adguard?
OkayFreedom VPN?
Secunia PSI?

None of these are installed on my system.
Guess the next step is to systematically eliminate which one is the culprit.
I’m also reporting this thread to Avast hoping that they may through some light on this.

Thank you. I will change back to stable for now.

A new stable version has just been released.

Adguard probably uses MITM method to scan https connections as does avast and they may collide together. Did you try do disable it?

Disabling Adguard? They’ve never collided before? Only recently. I’ll try pausing Adguard and see if I get that error, maybe Adguard is due an update for this issue.

Yeah, I can confirm, Adguard is the culprit. Do you recommend I disable Avast Webshield for the mean time or turn off Adguard and use an extension until the issue has been fixed?

Turn off Adguard. Turning off Webshield leaves you with no protection while browsing online.

Will do, I’ll switch to their extension for the mean time, till they’ve resolved this issue.

Think I’ve resolved the issue. During the problem, the certificate issuer was Adguard however once uninstalling and reinstalling Avast, all my certificates in all browsers are now issued by Avast Web Shield/Root, not hindering Adguard’s blocking capabilities.

Thanks again!
