Both reported off, while Avast in taskbar says I’m protected (running). I checked setting and found Windows enabled Windows Defender where I had it turned off.
I would suggest a ‘Repair’ and ‘Reboot’ of you Avast Installation. Open Avast UI and go to 'Menu/Settings/General/Troubleshooting/ Repair App
I will, did it yesterday but maybe it missed something. The repair I did was uninstall/repair so this repair is done differently.
Added: I did the repair and it shows Avast on in setting now.
