Windows 10 support Will still happen till 2025.
I have one system that’s ready to run 2011 once it’s released.
That system is set up to receive the new version early since I’m a Windows Insider.
So far, no updates.
I have done some reading and some reports regular program updates to qualifying system not until the later part of 2021.
Which is fine for me as after downloading and running the windows 11 compatibility it is reporting my CPU isn’t compatible. So it looks like my plan to wait until I eventually replace this laptop is my only option anyway.
Thanks for that whilst the WhyNotWin11 tool indicates my CPU Compatibility has an ! exclamation mark, but all other checks are OK, including the one about the TMP version being TMP 2 detected (which to me would seem to be the main criteria/requirement, but seems not) and secure boot being enabled.
I have now run that little checker and I find that the WhyNotWin11 (WindowsPCHealthCheckSetup.msi) tool posted by Asyn in Reply #22 is a more detailed listing of the system specs and if it is compatible/OK for win11 (see image in my Reply #23).
For me it’s already running without problems on one system.
I also had no problems with either Vista or Windows 8.
Neither Vista or Win 8 lasted very long before they got replaced.
Didn’t say its going to be problematic, just saying it may not be that good. Time will tell.
Many had no problems with Vista or 8, but they were universally condemned as garbage for the most part.
They got replaced because they were inferior.
