Windows 7 boot hangs at aswRvrt.sys when going through safe mode

Hi, I’m having a problem booting into Windows 7. It seems to hang at the aswRvrt.sys load during Safemode. It eventually will boot but takes about 1.5 hours in Safe mode, and longer than that normally. I’ve managed to run malwarebytes and actually uninstalled Avast while open in Safe Mode(Some thread had someone uninstall and magically start working again) and it still is hanging. I can’t access my CD drive at all -I can’t boot from it either for some reason.

I saw a couple of other threads so I’ve already run the FRST program and am attaching the file. Thanks for any help that you can give me!

Open notepad.

[*]Click Start
[*] Type notepad.exe in the search programs and files box and click Enter.
[] A blank Notepad page should open.
[
] Copy/Paste the contents of the code box below into Notepad.

[*] Save it to your USB flashdrive as fixlist.txt

Boot into Recovery Environment

Start FRST in a similar manner to when you ran a scan earlier, but this time when it opens …

[*] Press the Fix button once and wait.
[*] FRST will process fixlist.txt
[*] When finished, it will produce a log fixlog.txt on your USB flashdrive.

Exit out of Recovery Environment and post me the log please.

Try to boot Windows normally…

Thank you so much; I’ll do this when I get home from work and post the log!

Hi TwinHeadedEagle

Unfortunately it looks like my boot is still hanging. I’m attaching the fixlog. It looks like everything was reverted as expected.

Something I forgot to mention earlier, when I try to do a normal shutdown from safe mode it takes forever and eventually blue screens with the error DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE.

Thanks for your help!!!

Tell me what exactly happens when you try to turn on your PC. Exact message.

Hi TwinHeadedEagle

If you mean when I boot into Safemode, after uninstalling Avast it seems to now hang at CLASSPNP.sys. Other than that, there’s no messages given really.

I’ve attached the log that you asked for.

So, you still cannot boot normally…

Hi TwinHeadedEagle

I figured out what the problem was. One of my hard drives had a whole lot of corruption and it was screwing the others over. Now I just need to figure out how to view the files from an External and save what I can.

Thank you for all the help though, and I appreciate your patience in dealing with my stupidity >_<

Thanks for letting me know. Yes, that crossed my mind too as possible cause of the problem.
