Hi!
For quite a while now, I guess around a month or so, I have Windows security message that says that Windows did not find any anti-virus program on my computer and recommends to install one.
In fact, my Avast 5.0.677 weems to be working all right - every day the virus database is updated, teh program successfully finds threats when surfing the net etc.
So why my Window 7 “does not see” that Avast is there, and that it works?
there’s a bug somewhere between Avast and Windows… don’t know what, happened to me already, generally a full uninstall-reboot-reinstall-reboot solves the problem.
Have a look here (scroll down a little to the title that reads
Resolving WMI issuesand carry out the full procedure, steps 1 through 9.
It is an (apparently) unrelated issue being addressed on the linked site, however the steps are valid for most NTF systems, where the Security centre/action centre is failing to report security software status correctly.
It gets itself a little bewildered at times, the poor thing, and needs a reset.
Don’t forget the reboot after.
@ Tarq57: tried that a while ago on W7 and that didn’t work >>> that’s the time I mentioned when I had to re-install to get Avast detected again.
Hmm. Be interesting to see what the OP needs to do to resolve this.
