I use the firewall from Avast IS. Should turn the windows 7 firewall off?

it is not necessary to turn windows 7 firewall off. avast firewall co-exists with windows firewall (it is a special case, thus this statement is not true for most other 3rd party firewalls).

they say the IS firewall is designed to co work with winfirewall… but i turn off

Windows Firewall cover ipv6 which avast does not afaik.

Hi i have internet security in windows 7 64bit and the firewall will not start. I have turned window firewall off and still will not sart, The error i get is Firewall not available! when i hit the turn on button.

Try to repair AIS. (Start-Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs-Avast-Function Repair-Restart your PC)
