I used frst to revert to the last good restore point after seeing the format for that in the fix file used. reran frst and windows booted right up.
will try to do that to the second machine…still have no clue how windows 7 pro with current everything can get into a totally unusable condition so fast.

I have two pc with this problem
the first pc failed on 1/21/16. some of the last modified files/folders were associated with an attempt to open a really old outlook pst file by mistake…I have been sick since then and did not keep notes of what was going on.
And naturally all i have is the upgrade win 7 pro which is not bootable.
I have a 3 user license but don’t know what version of avast i have
I was able to load reatogo-x-pe from a dvd then ran frst and the the log file is attached for this machine win pro 7 32bit.
nothing was spotted so i am in need of help to get this resolved
