Hi folks!
When I tried turning my computer on this evening, it went into startup repair for some reason, and rebooted. Then it got to the splash screen, before I got a brief BSOD telling me that there were som DLL issues. Then the computer started again, and after the splash screen, the same thing happened. Tried starting in safe mode, same thing happened. Tried doing a repair, couldn’t fix it. Tried restoring the system to a backup point, could’nt do it. So I was kinda lost:(
After spending the entire evening trying to figure out what was wrong, I remembered there had been a popup error message after I had logged into my computer for a little while, that said that a file called aswRvrt.sys had an error etc. So I googled that, and I think I was adviced to find some files and delete them, but I actually dont remember exactly what I did.
I downloaded the farbar tool, and ran it through command prompt using the windows DVD. The result from the scan are attached.
I’m a total noob with stuff like this, and all the names and terms are abit confusing, but I hope I have submitted enough information so somebody could be able to help me out:(
I have of course delayed taking backup of all my most important stuff, so I hope I could avoid having to do a full re-install of windows.
I’m sorry, been trying to figure out how to do that, but couldn’t find a nice guide:/ Would you mind giving me some quick instructions? Sorry for being so incompetent
Open your email client, add an attachment (go to C drive, Windows folder, Minidump folder → then select the latest file from this folder, or multiple/all files, it doesnt matter) and send me the email to: kurtin@avast.com
Oh, I see I must have explained the situation poorly, sorry:/
I can’t boot into windows at all, so I don’t know how to find and save those files you asked for:( The computer just goes into bsod and restarts after the splash screen
The same thing happens when I try that. Bsod after the splash screen and the whole system restarts, only to reach the splash screen again and restart:/
Get yourself a “life-cd”.
Boot from it.
Navigate to the file(s)
Send them through a webbased email client or copy them to a usb stick or something and send them from the system you are now using.
