I have a problem turning on the Avast firewall in windows 8 pro. I have had Avast suite already installed but on installing Windows 8 Pro I just get a message “unable to start firewall”. My network is set to private and I had to turn on windows own firewall, please can you help as I must have some setting wrong. Thanks

Repair avast!:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → avast!
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.
